antique bicycle
The Cruiser bicycles of the 1930's were sturdy bicycles designed for simple transportation. The development of wide "balloon tires" allowed bicycle manufacturers to make safer bicycles that could negotiate the rough roads of the time. Large floating saddles provided greater comfort on bumpy terrain, and headlights allowed the bicycle to be used as transportation even at night. For the first time, everyone... men, women, and children, could ride a bicycle comfortably and safely. The bicycle craze was in full swing.
By the 1950's, the automobile replaced the bicycle as the standard form of transportation. The cruiser bicycle developed into beautiful motorcycle inspired works of art designed by manufacturers hoping to capture the imagination of young men who longed for a motorized vehicle. Typical features of the 1950 era cruiser bicycles included motorcycle style tanks, large chrome headlights, electric horns, and of course, the newly inovated "balloon tires". The bicycles were decorated with colorful graphics, and shiny chrome accessories.

Rideable Bicycle Replicas. More quirky bicycles, trikes and catamarans – OK, we’re lying about the last part – than you can shake a pump at.
We began manufacturing standard and antique replica bicycles during the great bicycle boom of the 1970’s. When the boom ended, we continued to make bicycles, but only the ones we enjoyed riding: the high wheelers. (Also known as Penny Farthings.) With a few skilled craftsmen we have continued to produce about 200 high wheelers a year. We also produce a handful of three seat Courting Cycles and some Rickshaws (Also known as Pedicabs).
